Altar Guild

At Church of the Good Shepherd, the sacrament of Holy Communion is shared every Sunday and during special services throughout the year.  The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the altar for the service, cleaning the linens, providing candles, and providing fresh flower arrangements for the services. After the service, they remove, clean and properly store the communion items until the next service.

There has been a long tradition at Church of the Good Shepherd of displaying flowers on the altar, with special arrangements for Christmas, Palm Sunday, and Easter.  These are dedicated by parishioners as a memorial for departed loved ones or as a thanksgiving for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms or weddings.  There is a $30.00 cost which is directed to the Altar Guild Fund.  This fund is used to provide all the flowers and decorations in the sanctuary and side chapel, the linens on the altar, and the bread and wine for the communion services.
