May Prayer Focus

• Give thanks for the beginning of Air Conditioning installation.
• Praise God for the wonderful success of the Come Grow Celebrate! capital campaign.
• Ask God to help us do what was revealed to our Vestry: Helping one another put Jesus Christ first.

The Vestry has accepted a bid by Schempp Heating and Air Conditioning of Sioux Falls. Installation of AC in the church and the fellowship hall will begin shortly, as soon as components arrive. As we complete our pledges for the Come Grow Celebrate! capital campaign, other rooms and areas of the church will be air conditioned as well. We give thanks to God for blessing this campaign - air conditioning is the final building improvement of the campaign. We have also replaced the church roof, installed new windows, added an elevator and managed operating account debt.

April Prayer Focus

• Always ask in Jesus’ Name!

• Give thanks to God for blessing our Holy Week and Easter services.

• Pray that we all learn to “put Jesus Christ in first place” as individuals and as a church.

• Ask God to show us how to support one another in Christ and to share the Holy Spirit.

• Pray for guidance and provision as the Vestry works on our plan to air condition the church.

• Give thanks for all of the ministries that the Spirit of God is activating in our church.

March Prayer Focus

• Always ask in Jesus’ Name!

• Ask the Father to bless us with the knowledge of His love as we observe Holy Week and Easter.

• Pray that we all learn to “put Jesus Christ in first place” as individuals and as a church.

• Pray that we come together in groups that help us support one another and share the Holy Spirit.

• Pray for guidance and provision as the Vestry works on our plan to air condition the church.

• Give thanks for all of the ministries that the Spirit of God is activating in our church.

Updated Winter Prayer Focus

• Ask the Father to pour out the Holy Spirit and give our church members gifts to be "apostles, prophets, evangelists and teachers", to equip us for ministry, build up the church and give us unity in faith (Ephesians 4:11-13).
• Ask the Lord to use Good Shepherd to reach people who don't know His love.
• Ask God to make us good stewards of our time, talent and treasure, to His glory.
• Always ask in Jesus' Name!
• Continued contributions toward next year's installation of air conditioning -Enough funds to add new projects -God's guidance of the Vestry in the use of extra funds.

September Prayer Focus

• Continued progress on funds for AC
• For progress that allows extra funds toward new needs and projects.

•  We give thanks for higher than expected giving.
•  We give thanks that the campaign is allowing our operating budget to make ends meet.
•  We pray for the coming installation of air conditioning in our Sanctuary and others spaces

• Pray for the Holy  Spirit to fill our new Family Service
• Pray for steady progress toward our new Outreach - Moving Assistance Program (MAP)
• Ask God's blessings on the travelers and vacationers

June Prayer Focus

Campaign Update as of May 11, 2007

• We are pleased to announce that our elevator is totally installed, inspected and paid for, as is the newly accessible bathroom.
• People who haven't been able to come to church fellowship events are attending again!
• At the May Vestry meeting, Jr. Warden John Daucsavage presented estimates for the next phase of our campaign, the installation of air conditioning in the sanctuary and possibly other parts of the church.
• In addition, capital funds might be enough to purchase and install a more visible church sign, facing both traffic directions on 33rd street.  Mark Barker presented preliminary drawings and estimates.

Campaign Update as of March 13, 2007

• Elevator installation is underway!  Thanks to your sacrificial giving, all cash is already in hand to pay for this latest improvement through the Come Grow Celebrate! campaign.  In addition, our better-than-expected budget will let us make our bathrooms fully accessible at a modest cost.
• Acorn Construction, general contractor for the project, believes that the work can be completed in time for Easter at Good Shepherd.

Campaign Update as of February 28, 2007

• It appears that the vestry made a good call to move up the elevator. We have just received another check, this one for $5,000! This has really opened up some giving!

Campaign Update as of February 27, 2007

• We couldn't have services due to the snow on February 25th, but that didn't stop generous and sacrificial giving!  The announcement of our upcoming elevator installation brought $6,000 in fresh offerings on Monday, Feb. 26th.  Let us bless the Lord! 

Campaign Update as of February 15, 2007

• Elevator Installation to begin!  The Vestry has given the "green light" to move up our elevator installation project.  Because we've paid off our church operating debt, and have a strong initial donation to the project, we will be contacting Access Elevator and Acorn Construction to begin work as soon as possible!
• Construction, including widening a downstairs doorway for wheelchair access, will take about 3 weeks.  This will be followed by the installation of an elevator to connect the sanctuary with the church hall downstairs, allowing for fuller participation in church life by members of all ages and needs.
• We are thankful for steady giving on Capital pledges, and encourage those who have not yet pledged to take part in the campaign.  The air conditioning of our sanctuary will be the next major reward of our sacrificial giving.

The February Prayer Focus

• Pray for the growth of our congregation
• Pray for effective outreach
• Pray for new and accelerated giving so we can install an elevator and air conditioning in the near future!

People continue to Come Grow Celebrate at Good Shepherd!  Our Average Sunday Attendance figure (ASA) is up again:

• 2004 - 42
• 2005 - 68
• 2006 - 85
