Mary's Oblation Palm Sunday 2007

On Sunday, April 1, 2007 Mary Pat Forsberg took her final vows to become an Oblate of the Benedictine Order at Blue Cloud Abbey.   An oblate vows to live their lives according to the rule of St. Benedict which calls all monks and oblates to pray, read scripture, and work. Oblates are the lay members of the order.

Good Shepherd is blessed with a number of oblates in our lay ministry. Mary joins Tammy Briggs and Bonnie Makinson as oblates, while Gene Makinson and Marci Leichtman are Novitiate oblates.
