Annual Good Shepherd Stewardship Survey

Please help your vestry plan for operating expenses.  This is an anonymous survey, you are not being asked to identify yourself.  Please answer the questions below, separate at the perforation, and drop this half off in the box provided at the back of the sanctuary.  We would like to have the responses in by 3 February 2008 but late is much better than never.

1) Please enter the “CAT” letter  from the table below for the line that best describes your actual family income [____].

2) Please enter the percentage per week amount which is closest to what you will be able to give this year [____].

= = = Here are additional questions about a new youth program, all can respond. = = =

3) We have been asked to see if there is interest in funding a professionally run youth ministry (ages 11 to 17).  Assuming you would be offered an excellent youth program, “what would it be worth to you to fund that program out of your pocket per year?”

[____]-$0   [____]-$100   [____]-$200   [____]-$300   [____]-$500   [____]-$700   [____]-$1,000

4) How many children between the ages of 11 – 17 in your family would participate in such a program?    [____]-2008   [____]-2009   [____]-2010

How does one know the standard for giving if no one ever talks about it?  Everyone would like to be able to tithe at 10% but few are able.  Typically, donating one hour a week of your post tax income is the minimum to be a committed church member.  Below is a table that will help you see where you fit in the national average (2.6%).  For example, on line E of the table your post tax income would be $61,033 or $31 per hour.  In other words if you give $31 at that level of income you are at the national average.  Most people would hope to be above the average.
